I read that whole thing, but obviously not closely enough. I never picked up that he was married. What's he doing having a virtual date night every week with another woman if he's married?

limey 04-16-2013 11:27 AM

See, I'm so gullible, I thought it was a friendship
Clod, you're right. In fact he has the hots for a few women scattered around the world, it seems.

I read the whole thing thinking they were both women, but then at the end the writer mentions having met his wife online too. I guess the writer could still be female in that case, but then the question about the wife is still valid.

Sunday at 9:00 is when I snuggle up in Gini’s lap and give my time to K.
I thought it was perfectly clear.

Very very few marriages actually work like that, and even fewer of those succeed long term.

But the online relationship is real, no doubt.

If you're thinking he wife's name is Gini... that's the xfinity model's character name

Hannah Davis ( aka ) Derek Jeter's ole lady

glatt 04-16-2013 12:09 PM

I thought it was two women too! And when I read about Gini's lap, I figured that was just the woman mistyping that a cat was in her lap. By the time there was talk of the wife at the end, I was skimming and must have assumed it was a playful way of talking about the online friend as a wife because they were so close.

The writing style was asking to be skimmed.

What a small world they must live in, to have to touch and sniff someone to feel connected to them. To be restricted to such a physical, mundane quality before they can clasp hands and trust.
this is where I lost interest and began skimming. I did not finish it.

His point is absolutely valid, though. You CAN have efriends. I have several.

I cried real tears on multiple occasions (I'm a little misty right now, in fact) when Claudette died. proof enough for me.

The person is married? What the holy fuck?

Apparently we all skimmed this article, even those of us who thought we didn't.

As a penance, I suggest we deprive ourselves of reading it any further.

This. Jesus holy fuck, what is the man doing? What is she doing?

I skimmed again and this time picked up that he also met his wife online! So it's not even like she'd be thinking ah well, it's just an online thing, not like they actually know each other...

I guess if the 'wife' (probably not a real winner, sorry that's mean but hey...) knows all about his shenanigans then this doofus is living the dream, only I suspect his dream doesn't exactly resemble a harem of beautiful, strong, independent women. But he's all over a woman over The Throne Games or whatever? Are there pictures? Yeah, I'm horrible but all I can see in my mind is a bunch of giant L signs.

But it doesn't negate the thought behind limey's OP, and that is that online friendships can be real and true, and sometimes more close than the people you are surrounded by every day.

So, cheers to that. :)

Once you upload your image, position your cursor where you want the image to lie, then find the paper clip in the icons at the top of the edit box, then click, and select your image. It will insert <attach>######, etc. voila.

I only learned that recently my self. I think big v clued me in.

infinite monkey 04-17-2013 09:07 AM

Ahhh, I remember that but was confused at the time as to what I was supposed to do. That was easy!

I've learned more about the Cellar this week than I've learned in 6 years!

Thanks jim. :)

No problem, e-buddy!
