Merkin version is a clusterfuck. |
We had something similar to that happen over here during a G8 conference or something just as important. Buggered if I can remember exactly what it was. Not G8 cause we're not in that club, but something equally important with heads of state and such all in one spot.
A group of comedians, from a show called 'The Chaser' dressed themselves up as muslims and managed to get through just about every check point because they were in a limo. It caused a huge controversy here and across the world. There was a thread on it somewhere around here. Probably in politics. It was during the height of the whole muslim hate hysteria period, so at least a few years ago. I can't even remember what the conclusion was, but it was a dumb stunt, handled badly by PR companies. |
sounds more like a business than a school, Sundae..... :(

Oh goodness no!
The TAs report to the teachers - officially (or mostly unofficially). The Teachers have a weekly Staff meeting. The SMT meet fortnightly. The Governers meet monthly. And there is a visit from the church board (? can't remember their title) once a term as we are a C of E school. Oh and OFSTED come to appraise us once every scholastic year. And that's without the mandatory tests imposed on the pupils by the Govt. Or by the teachers by the SMT - there's always some sort of "observation" going on it seems. Aside from that it's a freewheeling kind of place. It's the reality of the public sector these days, Monster. You can't just do right or do well, you have to have it signed and sealed in triplicate with officially sanctioned proof that you are doing so. Even I spend close to an hour every week on paperwork for my two charges. And I only work for 25. Surely no business could run like that :( |
Ali beat me to it, but as she said, Dana, you needn't feel too bad.
The event was the APEC summit in Sydney, and a bunch of TV comedians cruised up in a fake convoy with passes with "FAKE" written on them clearly, and were waved through inside the super secure zone and were approaching the hotel where the world's top leaders were staying, and only stopped of their own initiative. They were arrested but IIRC there were no convictions because the cops had waved them in and they hadn't broken any laws. |
