I have a Sony UX90 Type II (CrO2) Position High Bias 70us EQ that I carry in my pocket every day.

You carry Peter Gabriel
In your pocket every day?

And then there's this...

Behold, the recordable eight-track tape.

Attachment 37034

I still have a portable eight-track player somewhere. Eight D-cells, good thing it had a shoulder strap.

I'll bite.

Why for?

The Washington DC subway system has these reusable fare cards that are really fragile. They crack when you keep them in your wallet and they stop working. I hollowed out this cassette and put the fare card inside to protect it. The wireless signal from the card easily broadcasts through the cassette case.

infinite monkey 01-27-2012 03:30 PM

Oh, so you can't really listen to Peter Gabriel. :(

glatt 01-27-2012 03:31 PM

No, but I can hear it in my head anyway. It's etched in there.

..sledgehammer... :hedfone:

Aye, I had noticed it isn't a working tape. - I bet you get the occasional double take, when people think "What!? You can get through the turnstile with a cassette??"

Nice.

Long ago, my friend would record music on a VHS tape. It held hours of tunes, and during a party, he didn't have to change albums.

On many mice, if you press the center scroll wheel, it puts you in 4-way scroll mode, and all you have to do is move your mouse around to pan.

jimhelm 01-28-2012 12:41 PM

I have my mouse set up so that pressing that wheel maximizes the window you are in

I have pretty much my entire library of vinyl and CDs converted to mp3s. The Zings graduation parties were pretty much all day things. I never had to touch the music.
