Glad you're all okay! Now for all the logistics of getting back, doing the paperwork, getting a replacement, etc etc. PITA time.

glad you're alll ok. I've totalled a number of cars in my day, it's not a fun as it sounds. Some cars I've totalled more than once. Good luck car shopping.

Probably an urban myth, but I heard that when Oldmobile was first introducing air bags,
they set up a test group where some cars had them and some did not.

One customer had an accident and the air bag went off, so they got another car.
That person had an another accident and the air bag went off, so they got another car.
That person had yet an another accident and the air bag went off, and the person was disqualified from the test.

But maybe society would be better off if that first car did not have air bags at all.

As I said, probably an urban myth.

OK so here's what happened -and do you think we can sue?

Ice storm/sleet hit. Was in the outside lane on I75 in UP Michigan. No real traffic about but was about to pass an on-ramp so had pulled into outside lane in case there was any joining traffic. Hebe put on a CD as we settled in, then suddenly the car span off the road, did 180, hit the central res barrier passenger side on, went through it, ended up nose towards the barrier, tail in the fast lane of the other carriageway.

So, the barrier is the wire things, designed the have the posts break but the wires catch the cars. the Sheriff was real pissed because the barrier is new and we were the first to "test" it, and it failed because we went straight through it. can we sue?

No, and they'll bill you for barrier repairs.

I remember my father getting billed by the electric company for a pole my mother took out. He made me go drag that sucker home.
