Everyone will tell you that the Kerdi is great stuff, and they are probably right, but good old tar paper is basically just as good and a hell of a lot cheaper. Plus then you'll have a roll of tar paper kicking around for those emergeny roof repairs after a storm. Just make sure to buy the heavier weight stuff.
