Without Question ...

The best Christmas album EVER recorded is Snoopy vs. the Red Baron. I still have my original, beloved, childhood, vinyl copy of this gem, which I have since upgraded, first to cassette tape, and more recently to CD. The Royal Guardsmen ROCK. It's just that simple.

(I also enjoy Mannheim Steamroller, but that's largely because I loved CW McCall. There are a couple of other christmas CDs that hit power rotation for me this time of year, including Loreena McKennit's To Drive the Cold Winter Away and Billboard Top 20 Christmas Songs, and no Christmas would be compete without Ren & Stimpy Christmas.)

and Loreena knows from cold. She grew up in chilly Morden, Manitoba. (my Mr.'s hometown.) By all accounts a very very nice person as well as beautiful voice.

Loreena McKennit

She's all that and a bag of chips!

elSicomoro 12-04-2002 08:35 PM

You meant a bag of weed, right Griff? ;)

I'm sure I have no idea what you are talking about.

Loreena McKennitt

My actual total favorite album of hers is The Mask and The Mirror. I can (and have) listened to that one over and over and over and over (to the point of frustration of many). Best Tune? Bonny Swan ... gotta love a tune in which a dead body gets washed up on a river bank and turned into a harp ...

We've got "The Book of Secrets" its all about her voice. I have no idea what she's saying.

I'm grateful for the fairly complete lyric sheets included in the jewelbox ...
