:) xoB, your generosity ... wait... I just want to say I find your generosity admirable and entirely in character. Good man. |
As to the chips on the cartriges, it's true. I have an (antique) HP officejet d145 and the printer remembers the last three cartridges it's seen. So I keep a refill kit and a stable of four cartriges , black and tricolor. Tedious, but economical. By the way the printer calculates not just how much the cartridges have been used but how old they are as well when determining whether or not a given cartridge is "used up". *sigh*

Get a chip resetter dude. all the kids are doing it.
|
can't find one. appears that hp carts/chips are not resettable, but, maybe replaceable. looks like big hassle.
whippersnappers! |
well if you can use an hp 45 black cartridge, it's yours.

ok, my turn - the $40 printer I bought 3 years ago no longer works. The paper feed is now messed up. I may try to see if I can take the back off and look at it, but....
To head off BigV - I don't need it for much, heck I haven't used this one in over 6 months. 90% black and white forms and such. |
i just upload everything to google docs and print it at work. you can have my printer.
|
Thanks Jim - That's what I've basically been doing, but sometimes my kids need stuff for school.
