Besides, our tooth fairy is usually tired, stressed and/or drunk, so I think they're pretty impressed if she remembers at all :lol: ....although she managed to find her way to zippyt's house that one time and she pays for swallowed teeth.

Eventually you'll slip up and they'll suss you out. Then when they are older and hate you and are looking for an excuse to dump you off in the care of sadists, they'll drag out that cheap tooth fairy bit and use it as the final nail in your coffin.

Recently I've had to pay the $50/tooth. Fucking tooth fairy sucks.

Tooth fairy's gonna be broke. On Wednesday Thor had spacers put in in prep for his expander in a couple of weeks

On Wednesday night, the tooth in front of the tooth in front of one spacer popped out. On Thursday night, same tooth on the other side. today, one of the ones directly in front of the spacer....

...and the poor little bugger has to go and get two canines extracted in the next few weeks and I've heard she's especially generous in such cases

I shattered an important molar a few weeks ago. I guess I am grinding my teeth too much.

That sucks. My job used to be so stressful years ago that I would grind my teeth all the time at night. My wife would too, because her job was even worse. We were both doing that paralegal crap. We promised to wake each other up if we the other was grinding their teeth. So then we were stressed and sleep deprived.

Watch out for TMJ pain. The popping, involuntary dislocating, and locking of my jaw has gotten so bad recently that my dentist insisted I go see an orthodontist. You ever want to feel depressingly old, just go be an adult in an orthodontist's office for a few minutes.

The 150 bucks I paid for my night guard (this was sans insurance...remember I had once again broken my caps, this time after losing my job. With insurance it would have cost a lot more but would have cost me about the same...go figure. But I digress.)
It goes on my bottom teeth. I feel weird sleeping without it now. I was reading and napped for a bit and as I was falling asleep I felt my teeth start doing their dance. The night guard keeps my jaw aligned and prevents my bottom teeth from pushing into my top teeth, as well as keeping the space between my back teeth so I'm not ruining those too. Since it was made for me, the appliance also acts as a sort of retainer for my bottom teeth, keeping them from starting to overlap as I get older.
It's very durable. It's so much better than the ones I was buying at the pharmacy...in fact those probably didn't do my mouth any favors.
Highly recommended. Tooth repair will cost you much more in the long run, unless you're fine with running around with effed up teeth, which I was not.

So the football mouth guards are not good enough?

I was advised by friends to try those. The ones you boil and mold (mould?) To your teeth that aren't made for football aren't really good enough. At 20 bucks a pop, and them being chewed through regularly (you have no idea the constant power of your jaw when you are sleeping, as opposed to protecting against occasional bumps to the head in football.)
Maybe you were joking, maybe i 'm a dental prothesis snob. I'm just telling you the advantages of a guard made by a dentist, and the eventual cost.savings.

I've got to go see my dentist and I'll ask him.

I'm seeing the surgeon for my other shoulder on thursday. I'm hoping that will work out considering the whole medicaid affordable care crap.

I'm kinda creeped out by the tooth fairy.
