Time to blow the place up then, I guess.

I changed to 2nd shift about 3 years ago and got really annoyed when I had to set the alarm to go to my mothers every Christmas.

As a matter of fact, I left early, it's no fun anymore. The Army is running the plant now and it's 90% bullshit spit & polish. Trying to get things done, while keeping the shop looking like nothing is being done, sucks.

"There's a short piece of 2x4 on the shelf under your bench."
"Yeah, I need that several times a day, when I'm drilling thin sheet metal."
"Well you have to write "shop aid" and a serial number on it, then keep it in a designated, locked, shop cabinet. When you need it (for a minute or so), get the key to the cabinet, sign out the "shop aid", lock the cabinet and return the key. After using the "shop aid" (for a minute or so), get the key, return and sign back in the "shop aid", lock the cabinet and return the key."
Do this several times a day, and end up being 10% efficient, because that's the way the army wants it done.
Incredibly stupid, incredibly annoying, incredibility expensive.

Congratulations, Bruce! Happy for ya. :D

Okay, so, umm...what's going on? :p: Hihi....Sorry, but I haven't been able to be around much, but I don't want to be a stranger. :p: Is there something else we want to congratulate Bruce other than being retired?

Bruce, in all sincerity, I am really happy for you that something good happened. And if not something really good happened, I am happy that you're happy. :D

the parts for his truck came in!

jinx 02-26-2010 02:11 PM

How's that truck in the snow I wonder...
My friend with a cts caddy was shocked at the trouble he had getting it to the parking garage in 1 inch of snow.

Maybe not. The body shop told me the insurance adjuster gave him the name of a place in AZ that would have them, and the body man said he would call them Monday. I checked their website this morning and they've got zilch, so we'll see.:(

Not a snowmobile, the front tires are 10 inches wide, and back tires are a foot. For snow you want narrow tires with aggressive tread, but on dry pavement that aggressive tread costs traction.

what I would like to know is -- why do you need kisses and hugs so much? Are you a kissing bandit? Have you outgrown your affection fixation now that you're retired?

xoxoxoBruce 02-26-2010 04:25 PM

I don't need them at all, I offer them to those in need.
