eeeeewwww, sam, please try to do that in your elbow or a Kleenex next time. I had no idea it was possible for lurgy molecules to fly that far. impressive!

I'd call a lingering case of Ebola Zaire something that we'd all rather SamIAm not share...:D

SamIam 12-24-2009 12:07 PM

Ooooh! Ebola! Does that come on quickly? I have already set the stage when I happened to run into Bill yesterday. I complained of a very bad headache and said I was on my way home to go lay down. I feel rather bad about my little white lie because Bill himself is a nice enough person. Unfortunately his family dynamic is just something that I really don't want to get drawn into, especially as a "hostage situation." I don't have a car and Bill would have to come get me. If I had my own ride, I could stop in for half an hour or so and flee if things started getting strange. Since this is not a possibility, ebola it is. :greenface

To assuage your feelings of guilt and let Bill know that it's nothing personal, maybe you could suggest getting lunch at some later date. . . when you call to cancel the Christmas soiree.

Take a date with you and make him entertain while you nosily plunder through their belongings. It'll be fun ... and they prolly won't ask you again.

So what did you end up doing, Sam?

SamIam 12-26-2009 10:20 AM

I called in sick. Bill didn't seem upset over it and I ended up spending Christmas with a couple of friends who don't have such potentially explosive family dynamics. ;)

Who are these folks? I thought they were a mythical beast, like unicorns.

Glad you escaped, Sam.

Actually, their families all live far, far away so I don't really know if the families are dysfunctional or not. I think their is a direct relationship between distance and amount of dysfunction. ;)

That's the classic advise given to bachelors: marry an orphan. :thumb:

So Sam, how your Ebola virus doing. :)

Hope you are recovered! Get well soon.

SamIam 12-28-2009 02:45 PM

Thank you, Merc, I'm recovering nicely. And apparently "Bill" is not too mad at me because he asked me to join him and the gang for a sober New Year's thing our town is putting on - no family allowed. LOL ;)

But don't take their word for it... check thoroughly. :(
