Looks like a junkyard cat, to me. Several colors, primer spots, and even rust in the eyes. That's a cat I can identify with.:thumb2:

Hmmm. Someone may have been pulling her leg.
Rabbits were bred and kept throughout London for food, and a hell of a lot easier to find and kill than cats. Any bombed-out house in the East End should have had a supply of rabbits that the crafty could half-inch. If you were of a criminal bent I can't imagine why you would go searching for cats when easier pickings were available.

Especially as they weren't officially there. Householders had no-one to complain to when their contraband meat supply disappeared, as opposed to household pets, that they could raise a stink about.

Of course it may have been the case in the area your Mum lived in. Just saying that it certainly wasn't a widespread problem and smacks of an urban legend.

You see, this is the problem with cat owners versus dog owners... Just tell the little shit there is another cat coming - deal with it or else. (1/2 joking)

Samiam: Get the cat. It doesn't matter if the cats get along or not, it's better than the alternative...the kitten doesn't get adopted.:(

Is Flicker male or female? I think female might help.

I guess things will work out. We had three cats, the younger two were one year apart and got on well. However the third one was an older desexed male who was huge (9.5kg = 22lbs  ) who was clearly The Boss, so the dominance issue was less with these two. However, the younger did end up slightly dominant over the middle cat.

Since it will be Christmas, hence winter, the cold will give the kittehs a reason to snuggle up together. This might help with the bonding.

Yeah, get the kitteh. Merry Catmas.

Wow, your cat is gorgeous Sam! Male torties are so rare... Do you know if he's a chimera or trisomal?

edit: We're getting a second... in 5 days.

The new arrival will be here tomorrow! He is 4 months old and a "tuxedo" cat with white paws and a white bib. He also has one blue eye and one green eye. I am thinking of calling him "Cicero." ;)

Heterochromia is my favorite! He sounds very handsome. :)
