knew I shoulda taken a picture. I think we took one when we were in PA years ago, they intrigued us then, too. Sometimes they have snow shovelling gear in, sometimes bins, usually nothing

OK, I was curious because in Ohio requires all milk (drinking) producers to use refrigerated bulk tanks. The Amish don't have that and still use old fashioned milk cans, so they put them out by the road on elevated platforms (truck bed height) for the cheese producers to pick up. I though they might be covering them with metal sheds.

oooh interesting thought....but no. some might have been raised, but several were a little sunken and most were ground level.

Visited the ex in-laws in Northern Ohio a while back - they thought it would be a great idea to take the three hour drive to Amish country. On a Sunday. It was closed. Amish Country was closed. Not a single soul in the streets. Duh. Sunday. (Same trip we "went to" the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame - drove the hour there - Dad-in-law pointed at it from the moving vehicle: "There it is." Drove the hour home. Great trip.)
