Lookout - have you considered filing suit in small claims court? I think you'd win and you don't need a lawyer - just a good case.

Sounds like a slam dunk to me and, if nothing else, it would give you the chance to force her to deal with the hardship she caused. I rent a house not unlike your situation but so far have not had any problems.

Good advice Beestie. So good, in fact, that it is done and done. But you can't get blood from a turnip so I've settled for just putting a judgement on her credit report. I'll never get a penny out of it and I'm not going to put any more energy into it honestly.

I've learned my lessons and it is time to move on. This thread was really just an exercise for me really. It really was kind of cathartic to just type it all out, and what better place than the cellar really?

I don't think I've ever seen you write that much without mentioning kicking something.

lookout123 01-06-2009 11:57 PM

you must have missed it buried in the middle.

I must say, lookout, I admire your equanimity.

lookout123 01-07-2009 12:18 AM

I had to get the dictionary for that one. Thanks. I'm glad I appear that way but according to Merriam-Webster I think composure is closer to the truth. Fake it til you make it. or something like that.

Quote:

synonyms equanimity , composure , sangfroid mean evenness of mind under stress. equanimity suggests a habit of mind that is only rarely disturbed under great strain <accepted her troubles with equanimity>. composure implies the controlling of emotional or mental agitation by an effort of will or as a matter of habit <maintaining his composure even under hostile questioning>. sangfroid implies great coolness and steadiness under strain <handled the situation with professional sangfroid>.

Oh, my mistake. I thought it had something to do with horses.

That was never proven and the charges were dropped. Please let it go.

Wow, what a great story to tell your grandchildren, while killing time in your private box, waiting for LL's team to win their World Cup Championship match.

The Ouija board told me. :D

I like your equa...equaaaa...what he said, too.

Sheesh lookout. I have no advice but I will say it's people like you who persevere, and come out even better than before.

Isn't Harry Potter doing a stage show based on your equine experiences?

Who wants to gang up with me, to kick 2008's ass? I mean it's a whole year, I might need some help....

Pie 01-07-2009 03:16 PM

I'm with you, Cic. For me, 2008 had one good event and a crap-load of bad ones.
(We need a torch & pitchfork waving, castle-storming-mob smiley.)
