Take that stacking box penguin, add a couple of beanbags to throw at it, and you've got a great Christmas game. :D

The kids are already fighting over who gets which boxes.

Santa is broke this year, but he did manage to pre-deliver lots of bones and doggy treats for the doggy stocking! Yay!!! :)

Someone got an early treat and is happy as a clam. :)

She's growing so fast:( :

Nice doggeh!! I first glanced at the picture and away, and I thought how did that dog get a custom floor-level 104-key keyboard?

And that in turn calls for the classic New Yorker cartoon:

lol@UT!

That does look like a keyboard.

You reminded me of a Garry Shandling bit, about people driving through the country mooing out their car windows at the cows. He said the cows are like "Hey, that's a cow driving that car. How can he afford that?"

I know what santa is bringing me, but only because I spoiled it... See, one of the vendors we buy stuff from for the lab was having a special, spend $X on Y products, get a free iPod shuffle. We needed $X of stuff, so after checking with my boss, who said it was OK, I went ahead and placed the order. Yesterday the shuffle came and I brought it home to show Red. As soon as he saw the shuffle, I knew by the look on his face that he had gotten me an MP3 player for Christmas. Turns out, an iPod nano. We had to run to Sam's anyway for other things last night, so he showed me which one it was. Rock on! I am so excited. He's making me wait till Christmas to actually get it though.

So what are you going to do with the iPod shuffle now?

Cicero 12-19-2008 01:17 PM

LOL!!! Yea. That's what everyone says. ;) She's still been a good girl and working hard in training class...So santa gave all the presents a go signal!

Cloud 12-19-2008 01:30 PM

nothing. I never get a single thing.

waa!waa!waa!

must have been a naughty girl.

Cicero 12-19-2008 01:36 PM

Heh. I am receiving several swift kicks in the pants. A bunch of cu** punching. Oh well. After awhile I may learn to like it, and the gifts will turn out to be quite clever. :)

I've been busy loading workout music on it this afternoon inbetween house cleaning, laundry, wrapping presents, and breaking up fights between my daughter and her friend that is over to play. I'm going to use it this afternoon to run (on the treadmill!), I'll let you know how it works! :D

So you have anything a redneck might like? NO! Not Margaritas. Jose' is not my freind. Trust me on that.

I used mine tonight to smooth-out my butternut squash after roasting, but I mostly use it for soup. Black bean is my daughter's favorite and I do a super-simple version that takes no time;

Mirepoix + garlic, shallots if I have any, red pepper flakes, and olive oil in the bottom of the soup pot on med until the carrots aren't hard. Add 3 cans of black beans 1 big can of whole tomatoes and blend until smooth. Add another can of black beans and 1-2 boxes of chicken stock depending on how thick you like it. Salt, pepper, etc... Could be topped with sour cream, fresh cilantro, bacon etc...

What I really want

When I was about 6, Santa brought me a metal train. It was 6-year-old-boy-sized and although it had no built in design seat, I could sit on it. It was the best thing ever. It went 'too tooth' even though that was me. I loved my train and that was good because I was going to be a train driver when I grew up.
I remember then that it went (got stored one day) in a closet downstairs. And after that I never saw it again. I couldn't understand why, when I looked in the closet it wasn't there. But I knew in my heart I saw it go in there. I continued to look in the closet on and off until I was about 12 in the vain hope it was there and I had just missed it amongst the wellie boots and fallen overcoats and tool boxes. But I never saw it again.
Only recently I was thinking about it again. In fact earlier today. And then I logged on I chanced upon this thread. Today my explanation is that my mother had borrowed it for Christmas Day or got it on loan from the shop because little boys need to have Santa visit. We had very little money and maybe Christmas was particularly tight that year. And after a few days of Christmas it went back to from wherever it came. And I have missed it ever since.
For Christmas, I want my train back. Not any old train that looks like it, but that actual train.
Santa, can you see?

I got Wrath of the Lich King (play the movie, it's pretty cool - safe site). My son got the entire family a Wii, plus a couple games, and my bf got me:
