DH went to college in the Fine Arts program, dropped out, then ...went to the CIA to get a chef certification, then ...ended up delivering mail. So he is quite creative, and tie-dying a hanky would be well within his interests. And he's MANLY, dammit. :) Ah hell, maybe they'd rather just smear it with some grease? |
So do we want a theme here... funny cellar related embelishments and such... or just whatever we're into?
|
I think it would be neat to have something that represented you. Like I would maybe use an old race T-shirt or piece of labcoat or something...

I have read many books on quilting, but have never made it past the threshold of inhibition. I keep telling my quilter friend ... I have too many hobbies already!
I do own a sewing machine, though, and would enjoy giving this a shot. We do need to establish the size of the blocks ... after that, it's pretty much anything goes. Perhaps we could raffle it via the tip jar? Every $5 or $10 to the tip jar over a specific period of time represents a chance? A knitted/crocheted sampler afghan could also be a cool group craft project. |
I'll send in a square, if the project gets off the ground, but my sewing skill never matured beyond re-attaching buttons.
|
That sounds fun... Anyone want to teach me to knit??? I've always wanted to learn, but am way to dyslexic to try to teach myself from the books...

I like wolf's idea of buying chances for $X a pop. That way, it seems more fairer :)
|
That's an awesome idea Wolf.
Ok, I will borrow mum's sewing kit and sew some backing cloth onto the Jute square. I'll try and get a square that has the university logo on it. If we do this, that is :P |
I just started quilting, like, nonstop, so I'd be THRILLED to add a square. :D
