Marine removed from duty over Bible coin reports

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- A U.S. Marine in Iraq has been removed from duty amid complaints that he was handing out coins with Bible verses at an American checkpoint, the military said Thursday.

A military spokesman said Iraqis in Falluja complained that the Marine was giving the coins, which were printed in Arabic, to people at an entry control point in Falluja.

U.S. military regulations prohibit religious proselytizing.

We are at our heart tribal creatures. Part of a parents job is to inculcate their child into the culture in which they live.

Sports teams are a nice, safe, minimised example of that tribal tendency.

I am a diehard Arsenal supporter. LL is a Manchester United fan.

I historically support the Bulls. LL likes the Suns.

I mildly support the Blackhawks. LL is a Coyotes fan.

I cheered for Spain all the way through the Euros... LL cheered for Germany.
