I think it has to be active.

I got into one of those when I misspelled "laser monks" as "lazer monks". It took me a minute to figure out what was going on, as they were offering similar products.

Were they evil laser monks?

lumberjim 05-11-2008 10:13 PM

or maybe lazer monikers?

OK my website is up and only partially clotted with images from my commercial work. I'm having to scan what ever goes up and that is a slow process.

I'm not sure I want to post a link to that site here in plain view, but any dwellars who are curious can pm me for a link.

I'd appreciate your feedback. Thanks

I like it. What sort of work are you trying to attract with this?

It's more of a business card and an easy way to direct clients to examples of my work. I'd be shocked if it generated any leads. That's up to me, but I'd consider a rep if the right person were found.

Looks good. Really professional. I like the layout. Simple and easy to use. The sample work is very nice.

What are you doing in the self portrait used for "contact?" Is that some sort of large format pin hole camera you are standing over? It isn't clear to me from that picture that you are a photographer. You look more like a guy working on a foundation wall. Doesn't really matter, though, because the site is clearly a photographer's site.

Glatt you are the answer man! That was my first pinhole camera, circa 1985. It was an 8x10 with an effective f stop of f:786.

The angle of view was comparable to a 50mm lens on a 35mm camera. The depth of field was amazing. Everything from 1/4 inch from the pinhole to infinity was equally sharp.

After that I made a number of pinhole cameras some extreme wide angle, and one that was about 10 feet long.

Yeah, it isn't the best pic, I thought about this one but it was vetoed as too cute. I may just have to take a new one.

A 10 foot long pinhole camera? Cool! So it must have acted like a telephoto lens, and the exposures probably had to be extremely long.

footfootfoot 05-22-2008 08:05 PM

It was just insane. The exposures and optimum pinhole diameter made it impractical for film but it was fun to look through. Taping translucent material to the film end and pointing it at distant pine trees looked like distant pines trees projected, fuzzily upon a screen.

But then I can be easily amused.
