There's a name for that, as you might expect. It's called a phosphene. Have you been stimulating your visual cortex or retina in some way? You might want to stop it.

Good luck at the doctor.

Razzmatazz13 04-11-2008 10:27 AM

Yeah....I'd have problems with my visual cortex being overstimulated if I lived with jinx too.

Reowr ;)

lumberjim 04-11-2008 10:08 PM

so....i'm going to live at least until tuesday. i have a follow up test with a specialist. it's a localized retinal edema. the pics of my eye show a shadow opposite where i see the shape. the dr said it's most likely some fluid under the retina.
could be blood or just fluid. sigh. oh, and i COULD see better with some light prescription glasses if I wanted to.

I think spexx is an optometrist anyway (sorry if I'm wrong) which means he works with fitting glasses & related issues, not actual diseases of the eye.

Glad you made it to the dr. It sucks that there is something there, but at least it wasn't something where they had to whisk you off into surgery right away.

LabRat 04-14-2008 09:47 AM

hey LJ, you need to sheck out that glasses site that glatt used and post some pics for us :D

monster 04-14-2008 10:32 AM
