Yep...My problem with the whole deal is they aren't going to the whale blubber main office and getting the head honcho. Just the worker who is probably already injured from doing the job. Has a family to feed and all that....
If that's what it takes to stand on the moral high-ground then I had better go back to the drawing board. |

Sea Shepherd is the name of the organization. The name of the ship they're using in this case is the Steve Irwin.

In that case its dead already -

I loved watching Steve Irwin, but man that was good. |
The Japanese whaling ship threw a grenade at the 'steve irwin' on Friday. No one was killed, but one of the protestors ended up with a piece of shrapnel lodged in his kevlar vest.
The question I have is, why were they wearing kevlar? Did they know they were going to be shot at? |

Green Peace I support, PETA I dispise. Sea shepard ? Where the heck did they spring from?
As soon as the Japanese come up with exactly what they are getting out of these so called science experiments I might stay quiet, but everyone else seems to be able to acquire information and science data without slaughtering thousands of whales. But business is booming in the whale meat industry:eyebrow: |
Regardless of what they are getting in the way of scientific data, as I understand it, they are doing it where they shouldn't be.
|
yep totally agree with that . There are many protesters down there checking that they don't go outside the zoning area but it's only the big guns that get any publicity. that's why they can throw hand grenades and have to wear ballistic vests, this is happening in international waters. Otherwise there would be criminal charges layed.
What I would like to see is when the next season comes around, take a huge load of tourist ships down to whale watch . If they are anywhere near the Jap ships at least they will get to see some whales.;) There would be outcry then. |

Fuck the ships and their crew.
The protesters have stepped up their efforts this year because every year this shit happens. Do I agree with their methods? not 100%, but it is certainly getting results...they have stopped a lot of unnecessary whale deaths this year. Its going to end badly, there is no doubt, but I have no sympathy for the ships and their crews. |
How do you know it's stopped whale deaths? They have a quota to fill and they'll just stay there till they catch them.

I agree totally, Merc.....but I still believe the whalers deserve whatever they get.
