What they need is an inner heating element glass, and an outer layer of glass sandwiching some aerogel.

i think it's a bad idea. it'll look like shit after 2 pieces of toast. plus...all the heat will be escaping out the sides. why not just put a lexan window in a real toaster?

This of course also solves the repeated complaints about dirty glass and brings the product into that coveted "subscription" realm so sought after by businesses.
