Well, it's not that. It's just that most of us know not to take Ann seriously. Then again, most of us are not angry youth who swallow up everything she says (I served with plenty of people who, if she was on the air at the time, would be lapping up her spew and live by it). Unfortunately, the Republican party is bogarted by peeps like them.

I rather see her point about looking at Christians as evolved, though she says "perfected," Jews. Either direction, though, New Testament or Old, it's all God, and all One, be the visualization of God the triangular trinitarian one or a more-singular Perfect Circle. What were Christians in the beginning? The first generation of Christians were a variety of Jew, were they not? -- setting aside the conversions of sundry Romans and Greeks that soon came.
I understand that too, but, as you know, Ann is incapable of relating that point eloquently. If she did, she'd be out of a job...

Ann C. is a stupid, rude, cunt and really needs to find a deep, dark cave and stay there until she can "perfect" herself into eternity.

Shawnee123 11-02-2007 02:35 PM

Shel, you rock.

Not because you hate Ann (that's just a plus) but because you are the sort of person who has to feel reeeeaaaalllllyyy strongly about something before you would make a negative comment. Then, when you do, rarely, it's a zinger to beat all zings.

We need more Sheldons in the world, I say! :)

Urbane Guerrilla 11-03-2007 03:19 AM

What we really need is a lot less idiocy from the Democratic Party, such as Ann happily documents. If they weren't that -- freaking -- stupid, why Ann would have to do something different in the opinion-column field. I am dissatisfied with the Democrats and so is she. Her opposition is reduced to third-grade-level responses, and they imagine these would count for anything other than an indication of inferior thinking. Sheldon, I'm talking to you, and with your better interest in mind. Reread your post: does it sound like an adult?

Aliantha 11-03-2007 03:26 AM

Well she sounded pretty stupid to me in that interview, and some would say she's rude. She definitely has a cunt...unless she's the best drag queen ever; and what's wrong with suggesting she goes and finds some place to follow through with what to her must seem like the best thing in the world and the hereafter?

Nope, I think the response was very well thought out Sheldon. Couldn't have said it better myself in fact. ;)

A new history of Joseph McCarthy

Quote:

After printing rabidly venomous accounts of McCarthy for half a century based on zero research, liberals would only accept research presenting an alternative view of McCarthy that included, as the Los Angeles Times put it, at least the "pretense of scholarly throat-clearing and objectivity."

This week, they got it. The great M. Stanton Evans has finally released Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America's Enemies . Based on a lifetime's work, including nearly a decade of thoroughgoing research, stores of original documents and never-before-seen government files, this 672-page book ends the argument on Joe McCarthy.
History has a habit of vindication of the right.

A disturbing trend that seems to be boosted by this tendency is the apologia for historical tragedies like McCarthyism and Japanese internment.

?

Perhaps it is disturbing to those whom it is good for the Republic, and for history, if they are disturbed.

So, the book says he did not break the law, breech his authority or encourage others to outcast those who just thought differently than he?
That would be an interesting read.
As ever, acting like them in any way makes us them.

So you think that because someone wrote a biography, the things in it are fact?

DanaC 11-17-2007 05:44 AM

I read a biography of Marx once that claimed he was actually a member of a super secret, satanic cult. *smiles* biogs are just biogs.

Aliantha 11-17-2007 05:52 AM

oooh....super secret satanic cult. so much alliteration....so little time. ;)

ZenGum 11-17-2007 06:00 AM

You know Karl Marx's grave is a communist plot?

Aliantha 11-17-2007 06:02 AM

he's not a communist. he's a socialist. There's a big difference is you ask a socialist.

ZenGum 11-17-2007 06:07 AM

Ok, clever dick joke ruiner:

Did you know Karl Marx's grave is a socialist plot?
