Linda: The people are loud and obnoxious, every night you hear sirens going off... but worst of all, in every neighborhood all the houses are exactly alike.

I love the stories of you guys together. :)

All I can say is I really hope the Frats are better in UI than in Minnesota. People get roofied at them and girls still like going to Frat parties....I don't get it...

It's pretty much the same on every campus (well, state schools at least). There are several dozen roofie [sic] loving frats, about 10 that are 'professional' fraternities (read: not fun) and then there are the 2 or 3 worth joining. And I wouldn't even join those. Just do what breakingnews suggested.

I was a third-hand member of Sigma Alpha Mu when my very not jewish friend (in fact he's an ex-Jehovah's witness turned atheist) just hung out enough with the guys long enough to get the special 'official member sans dues' deal. So me and my other friend just showed up with beer 3 or 4 times in a row, and I don't think I paid for another keg cup the rest of college.

Which UI are you talking about?

Went to FSU and pretty-much disowned any frat "friend" I had the second they started to act weird, which was ten seconds after I saw them after they rushed every fucking time.
"How much do your friends cost again?"
"I'm in a frat, sure, the honors frat... we don't have a house. Why do you need one again?"

I'm in an Honors Fraternity. Sigma Alpha Lambda. Haven't done much, but it's not like a brotherhood fraternity, just I guess a service frat, nothing wrong with those, in my opinion.
And we're talking about the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
