DE is where the credit cards companies are--because that state allow the credit cards to set interest rates up to about, oh, 100 times the constant e in percent.

And PA actually expects you to pay tax on stuff you buy out of state...IIRC, it's like a 1% usage tax or some shit like that.

xoxoxoBruce 08-06-2007 07:07 PM

PA use tax is the full 6%. It's for businesses to pay tax on items they bought tax free for resale, but ended up using themselves in the course of their business.

elSicomoro 08-06-2007 07:27 PM

Ah...gotcha.

xoxoxoBruce 08-06-2007 07:31 PM

You may be right about the law saying PA residents are supposed to voluntarily pay tax on out of state purchases, it's just not "use" tax.

elSicomoro 08-06-2007 07:45 PM

Apparently, they do consider it a use tax in PA.

xoxoxoBruce 08-06-2007 08:01 PM

Ah, my bad... I stand corrected. They have expanded the "use" tax definition.

elSicomoro 08-06-2007 09:14 PM

I wonder how many people actually pay it...I suspect almost no consumers, but don't know about businesses.

yesman065 08-07-2007 08:03 AM

Is that different for businesses located in one state delivering goods or services to consumers in another?
