Cheney was also supporting his chief of staff Libby and supporting Rumsfeld right up to the end. What he says and what he really does do not always coincide. Honesty is not a Cheney attribute.
So far, it appears Gonzales has again survived a Congressional review because, just like during Watergate, so many did not even know what Woodward and Bernstein were reporting. It took weeks of constant broadcasting on all networks (no advertisments for weeks) for the public to finally acknowledge how normal lying was in that administration. It took that much to finally acknowledge that the Attorney General and his assistant were crooks.
It appears Gonzales has dodged another bullet. |
