good shoes are essential, as well as stretching. Try standing on stairs or a stool, and stretching your heels down. It helps.

Joint problems run in my family. The joints hurt, and it's worse first thing in the morning when everything is all stiff. Those first few steps can be painful.

Don't know if this trick helps the Plantar thing too, but here's something that might work:
Before getting out of bed, just do a few seconds of joint movement. Wiggle your toes, Point the toes up. Point them down. Roll your ankles. This gets the fluid in the joints moving around and getting out from in between the pressure points of the cartilage. Also loosens up the muscles slightly and stretches things a little. Don't overdo it. Be gentle.

Do it while still off your feet, as there is less stress then. Then your feet will be loose before they hit the floor with weight on them.

Do the same thing with your knees if you have problems with them.

It's kinda like stretching before going for a run. But not anywhere as extreme as that. You're just stretching a little before getting out of bed.

Yeah: stretching, stretching, stretching. For everything, for anything. Rushes the blood in, breaks the toxins up.

Surgery is a sure fix. For PF the procedure is about 10 min. Hurts like hell for about 2 days and then that is it. Never have it again.
