Now Dana -- just what do you think happened during the Volkerwanderung that finished the western provinces of the Roman Empire -- and do you remember why that happened? Or, on a far smaller scale, the Normans going to Normandy and thence to England in the mid-eleventh century? On a large scale again, Europeans of all stripes going to the Americas -- and some did not come as volunteers, I can tell you.

There is substantial historical precedent for blooming again even when replanted -- as long as you aren't being actively prevented from doing that. I figure there's reason to suspect that is what everybody but the Israelis are doing to the Palestinian refugees.
