Pet cockatoos have to be the meanest birds on the planet. I never thought a bird could have feelings of jealousy and hate, but I'm certain this species does and with a beak that can snap car keys in half (lucky I carried a spare) you had best keep fingers far, far away. The owner laughed while telling me a story of a "love bite" she received while handling the bird that, unfortunately, clamped down on the class ring on her finger and disfigured the round shape to an oval. She noted that having a vise grip around proved most helpful that day.

Fear these evil birds. :worried:

My friend's macaw has resized my jewelry a time or two.

Chocolate is poisonous to birds AFAIK (I've been given a list of things not to feed my friend's $2K bird, chocolate is at the top).

guess that cockatoo isn't going to be abusing people for much longer.

He's not eating the chocie....he's gonna hatch it.

Therefore, will live to the ripe old age of 125, like those blasted things do.

My Mum's swears like a trooper, its awesome what you can teach them to say.

You know - if a 17 YO cockatoo chomped on ME like some of these stories - it wouldn't make it to be a 18 YO cockatoo - BTW that holds true for dogs that bite too - won't stand for that stuff - they get ONE mistake

Apparently, Alka Seltzer is bad as well. Rhoda and her evil friends apparently killed some seagulls in this manner back in the day.

Apparently I knew one of her evil friends, because I heard this story too. This guy claimed the seagull exploded, and when we called bullshit he back-pedaled a bit on his story. Wonder if it's an urban legend?

Snopes says it is.

Based on what I've read, Alka Seltzer can possibly make a seagull sick and kill them, but not make them explode.
