And they take on a life of their own too when they're set free. Very liberating. ;)

Dana, you're a lucky gal. In my pre-underwire days, I usually went sans-bra...

seakdivers 04-10-2007 12:14 AM

All I know is that once those wires break free - forget about patching it. You might get an extra wear or two, but probably not.
I've had $80+ bras poke out after a few wears, and $39.99 ones last years. I usually have to buy the more expensive ones though because the cheapos don't come in my size. :(

bluecuracao 04-10-2007 12:19 AM

I've never tried patching them, they just have to go. There should be bra insurance to alleviate the costs.

Oh, what am I thinking.

A few weeks ago, April threw away two $80 bras due to the underwire coming out...she just bought them 6 months ago. The place she bought her new ones from repairs underwires cheap, but we had already thrown the old ones away. Due to her cup size, she can only get bras online or through specialty stores...I think the cheapest bra she's bought during our time together was $45.

Yep. Big boobs seem like a neat-o thing until you have them.

I think my wife has some kinda' bra OCD. A doorknob is not a doorknob without a bra on it in my home. :right:

I gave up on underwires after my washing machine got blocked for the 3rd time

Hush your hole! They are neat-o things, and I will pay dearly to ensure that they remain neat-o things! :)

It's really annoying when the underwire comes out of my boxer-briefs. Ow!

barefoot serpent 04-10-2007 11:47 AM

I seem to recall reading somewhere that 80% of women wear bras that are one size too small.

elSicomoro 04-10-2007 12:08 PM

I know...I hate when women wear E cups when they really have F boobies...a shame, really.

LabRat 04-10-2007 12:10 PM

I've only ever had the underwire come out of my swimming suits. The few bras that I have with an underwire have been fine, most VS, one Calvin Klein. However, I am a 34A, so the underwire is there to shape the padding, not support my skeeto bites :D.

Almost every single bra I own has had the underwire pop out... but with big boobies they have to do a lot of work. The VS bra I got the other day actually isn't very comfortable... the wire digs into my sides. It is still inside the stitching, but it digs. I am going to have to be careful the next time I buy a bra from them. I always stitch them underwire back in... usually I have to add a little fabric too because they get old. And I always wash them like my normal clothes so I think that is why they all wear out on me. Good thing I know how to sew! :D
