I got the talk at 8, and then a couple check-ups after that. I found my Dad's Playboy stash at about 9. I discovered poetry and literature at 13.

Needless to say, S.A.V.

My older brother's taste ran to Penthouse and Hustler. By the time I saw an actual copy of Playboy (in college), it seemed charmingly quaint.

Anyhoo, Young Master Dallas asked, seemingly out of the blue this weekend, "When a baby is in a woman's body, how does it come out?" (The two of us were in the car alone.) I explained that women have an opening between their legs where the baby comes out, and that women have those parts the same way men have penises. He thought about this for a bit, then followed up with, "How does a baby get through? Isn't it too small?" "It stretches," I told him. I did allow as how sometimes there were complications that required a c-section, and gave a vague explanation of that. He then asked if I had ever had surgery, so I then got to explain about tonsillectomies. He seemed satisfied.
