UT - the tab idea is great. I do that with my daily "musts" so it makes perfect sense.

How do you all keep track of which threads you want to revisit, even when they don't stay on the New Posts list?

New Posts Button is the way to go, IMHO. Never thought about that opening a separate tab for each new thread though. Very cool.

I just use the back button a lot.

At the risk of being accused of teaching my grandmother to suck eggs, you do know that you can subscribe to threads, and get emails at a frequency of your choosing to tell you they've been updated, don't you?

I generally cross reference the list of titles from there with the new posts list. That way I won't often miss responding to someone and I can add interesting reading. When the new posts are too numerous at least I haven't snubbed anyone in a subscribed thread.

I just do the 'new post' thing. When I have read as many of the new posts that sound interesting, I usually then go looking in each section to see if I've missed anything. I always read anything that sounds like it might be vaguely controversial.....usually I'll read anything political, I also usually read anything where a cellarite is asking for advice or sharing something of their life. I tend not to read anything technical in nature.....unless I am very bored and there are no other threads that I am following which have moved on since last visit.

With IE-7, if I ctrl/click each thread in the new posts, it opens a tab for each one. But, when I go from tab to tab, it opens at the first post of the thread instead of the last read post. :(

Well, this is the first time I've made it into the Cellar Meta forum, but I may dip in more often. I too found the cellar through iotd, but I've hardly been there since (Google Image search for something weird). I (used to) spend most of my forum time on "Britnet" (and believe you me, you think you have problems with Britney's luncheon meat, imagine the crap we have to deal with being only 1 letter away......)

I mostly browse the first two forums, but only through lack of time. If I had more time, I'd read everything. And probably remember it too. And post a whole load more. And get into a load more trouble. I ain't even touched trouble here yet, which means you haven't seen the real me :D :worried: Don't think I'd go as far as tabbing everything, though -waaay too exotic for me. I browse forums in order, occasionally straying from the path by following links in posts to threads in other forums. You find the best stuff that way. Love this site -the only one I visit that doesn't have a specific "theme" -the reason for being is just because, and yet it's not full of inarcticul8 txtRs lucking 2 find whateva. Priceless ;) (Have had to invest in some Depends, though :cool: )

Pursuant to the FOIA, I petitioned the NSA to email me the Cellar post numbers that were caught by their profiling (e.g. key words/phrases) software. I read those first; then, go to Nothingland which so far has been surprisingly sterile. :)

I start at [edit- main page]. I look for interesting thread titles. Then I look by each category. My method of whether I click on something is random and irresponsible. If I havn't been here for a few days I might not find that thread I wanted to respond to either. Especially the ones where condolences or congradulations are solicited.

If that dosn't work I might go surfing for photos in any one of the cellar's categorys which is pleasing enough.

The National Security Agency doesn't screen domestic correspondence between US citizens. :rolleyes: Even if they did, they wouldn't release that information pursuant to a Freedom Of Information Act request: they would release it to some Presidential aide who would leak it to the press.
