I'm in fine agreement with you this time UG. Taco Bell is as representative of Mexican food as a turtle is of transportation.
|
Mike came up with Taco bell. Only my 2nd time. I ask if he didn't watch the news? I had Quiznos in mind because of add for Smokehouse Beef Brisket.
But it was across town. |
aka Tangerines
Mineolas are the shizz, btw. |
No no no! Tangerines are similar in appearance but taste completely different. More specifically, they taste like ass, whereas mandarin oranges do not.

There's a joint in Oxnard right next to the train and bus station at the end of Fourth Avenue that can make up a good-sized burrito all the way from mild (and usually a little greasy -- this part of town doesn't do low-fat) to steam-jets-from-both-ears-even-if-you're-Mexican, named La Gloria. It's a multifaceted agglomeration of businesses that's mostly (by area) a grocery, but the second largest bit is a sort of buffet area with the back wall a panaderia with the traditional glass cases, trays and tongs with which you grab your choices of rolls and pastries. The flan there is good, too; only one or two other places in town can beat it. |
UG. Around Oxnard, is there a fruit stand beside one of the Hwys. that looks like a giant Artichoke?
|
Personally I would stay away from Taco Bell for an entirely different reason
|
I love mandarin oranges / clementines.
But they're usually too expensive for me, so I usually go without until my mother visits and buys a box. Thanks mom! |
I like the boxes that Clemintines come in - that's about it. I'd rather eat an orange. The best kind of oranges are Cara Cara Oranges. I had them once and they were so good.
