SonofV mourns the loss of Chief only slightly less today than he did five years ago. He can still get misty if the circumstances are right. Dogs are no less members of the family than any of the other children.

My heart goes out to you and your family in your time of loss. Sorry Griff.

Despite my diatribes against dogs and their owners, I am still sorry for your loss, she looks very sweet and probably would not chase and bite cyclists.

She would look both ways before crossing the road, definitely not a chaser. She did mtn bike with me up until the last couple months. She'd gotten so she'd take short cuts cutting out loops so she could catch up... clever little pooch.

Aw damnit, damnit, damnit.....I knew I shouldn't open this thread.
Dogs add so much and leave too soon. I've lost a lot of four footed friends in my life, and you know what?......it doesn't hurt any less.....it doesn't get any easier. My deepest sympathy for you and yours, man. :sniff:

I'm so sorry to hear that you have lost your beloved pet, Griff. At least you had 14 wonderful years with her which you can remember :sniff:

That is the essence of what is so great about dogs. They've been such clever partners for mankind for as long as we've been around. They join our pack, and accept our leadership, and all they ask in return is a few eggs!

I'm sorry for your loss, Griff. The last time I lost a dog, I found him in the yard, right next to a dead snake. They took each other out.

I'm sorry but I have to ask: How, exactly, did Bessie steal eggs? (were they chicken eggs in a nest, eggs in your 'fridge, snake eggs--what?) and then, more importantly, how did she fix them? Scrambled?

I hope it was scrambled coz that's my favorite.

Condolences to the whole family.

Before I built the permanent chicken house, the chickens had a little mobile coop that Bessie could climb into. She'd get in and have a few raw scrambled, but then she'd get stuck inside...

I'm so sorry. It always hard to lose a pet who is a family member.

Condolences: always hard to lose a friend, especially one who's been around for so long.
