Marnie wasn't very much fun. And there's Paul Verhoeven's gross mishandling of Starship Troopers. It may be Europeans are temperamentally unsuited to lensing a story so profoundly American and at bottom so libertarian.

I'd like to see at least one Heinlein story made into a good movie. As long as I'm wishing, I think Magic Inc. would make a good movie.

Princess Bride was great, so if you think it's on par with that, then maybe I'll see it. |

Hi Steve, nice to meet you!

Dar512, I figure The Puppet Masters beat the "Heinlein hoodoo" about adapting his work to film. And don't forget Destination Moon, speaking of which, I'd like to see The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress, though it's probably actually easier to make a movie of Time Enough For Love.
Another pipe dream: movie adaptations of Laumer's Retief stories. With scripts that poke a sharp stick into PC squeamoids, deeply and without apology. Some of the alien scenery should film up awful pretty. |
I don't want to see The 40yr Old Virgin or either of the Deuce Bigalow movies, or the Animal. So far I have to reason to see a porn flick either.
