The second one is legit - the original picure isn't impossible, just wierd. The first one only works when viewed from the right angle.

I figured something like that in regard to the first picture, it sort of shows if you look right even at this angle. But the second one's incredible.

I think the engineer did it. It IS either a recreation of Escher OR a good imitation of a scene from the Movie Labyrinth ( the bottom one ) and a video game. ( the top one)

That's definitely Escher, I'm a huge fan of his work, have it hanging (postcards) on the inside of the door to my toilet...

I do think though that the bottom one might've needed some glue to attach some parts, I can hardly believe that it would all fit.

Oh, a friend just showed me a cool kid's picture book, not of Escher, but illustrated with images that messed with space and scale like that. I'll see if I can remember it...
