It's USPS. I've never had problems with most shippers in my time, and I've used DHL, USPS, UPS, and FedEx. It's the company that's doing this, I think. After I placed the order, I happened to glance back at the shopping cart and noticed that it had a notice that 1-2 day shipping wasn't available, and that they also didn't have the quantity I wanted (2.. c'mon.. how can they not have a pair of ear rings?) When I e-mailed the company, they said that everything was fine and it should go out tomorrow (That was the 8th)

Sadly, I've heard this happens with this company, I was just hoping that it wouldn't happen to me. If they fix all this and do something to make amends, I can feel good recommending them to other people. If they keep giving me the runaround, well, I'll make a point of steering people away from them. Oh, and annoying them until I get a refund or my order.

RE: NY camera stores

If you poke around the web a little, you'll find the story of a guy who got burned by one of those scams and exposed the entire operation. No time at the moment, or I'd find and post the link. I think you might find it in the archives at memepool.com, though.

I have never had a problem with Fedex once they actually had the package, but their scheduled pickup service has burned me often enough that I use them only when I have a prepaid shipping tag from a vendor.

I order by fedex, because I like to talk with the fox that brings me the junk! :smack:

SteveDallas 03-14-2006 12:19 PM

Well that's a whole nother sort of pickup service!

Anyway, an example I forgot: I'm shipping a box with 4 rented laptops that are being returned to Charleston, SC. (Long story; please don't ask.) Our dining services are sending a piece of equipment back to Kansas City, MO for repair. Both had Fedex pick up call tags for the same day. The Fedex driver arrives and sees that his tag for the KC delivery calls for two boxes. (Both dining services and their vendor swear they never said anything about two boxes, only one. And I believe them.) So the driver pulls the Charleston airbill off of the box of laptops and pastes a KC sticker on that box.

BTW. I just placed orders from, zoomfly, M-wave, and superwarehouse. Maybe newegg. Hell I have a back-up for this. !st time for super.

Yea. Till back around X-mas she told me that she had got 500 buck shopping cards for each of her kids. Boy. Talk about down hill fast!

Where can I go to pick those up, then?

It's nice to see that other people here have that same attitude for these people.

When shipping from an established business there have been no problems with those things I've had shipped.

It's those things that I've had shipped "overnight" via those God damned Kinkos that makes my trigger finger twitch.

Not only do they charge a small fortune for the most basic things there, they often f**k the order up even when the forms are filled out correctly and completely.

It's true that the demand for overseas deliveries is not all that great in from those places but I ship international often. I know what has to be done more than they do many times.

Fedx makes me pick up the phone and chase things so often, they are at the bottom of the list of shippers.

UPS is the best IMO. Once I leave the UPS Store....there have been zero problems.

Heh. Fortunately I checked the tracking before they got there and found out things were hosed up so I could head off somebody having an "Oooo! Free laptops! Shiny!" moment.

Well, for $20, you could get one of these from Circuit City. I bought one for my BBQ.

seakdivers 03-14-2006 09:16 PM

Hmmm - I might have to get one of those rich!

Now once I get my Big Green Egg, I am going to get one of these:

Damn...and here I thought that being in KC might actually prove advantageous for once.

Update on me ('cause I'm important, you see)
Apparently the company I'd ordered from lost their 'net connect for about half of last week, which was coincidentally also a time when I was out of town. I got ahold of one of them yesterday and he got my order out the door today (supposedly, I'll keep you updated :) )
