I guess cancer it is. It sucks. I have to go for another biopsy monday. Ouch!

HungLikeJesus 07-18-2008 12:15 AM

Cancer keeps a lot of people employed.

I'm anti baby-torture. Anyone else with me?

glatt 07-18-2008 11:03 AM

I hate mosquitoes. There are plenty of other bugs for bats and fish to eat, so I would support an eradication of every mosquito on the planet. Who's with me?

Sundae 07-18-2008 11:08 AM

With Smoothmoniker
Against Glatt - if there's one thing we should have learned in the 20th century it's that messing with ecology will have unforeseen effects. Ask the Australians [cough, Cane Toad, cough]

SteveDallas 07-18-2008 11:25 AM

Define "baby." At what age does the torture become OK?

HungLikeJesus 07-18-2008 11:32 AM

If they cry when you torture them, then they're just a big baby.

Sundae 07-18-2008 11:45 AM

I would classify any child under a year as a baby.
Despite the fact that they may already be toddling by the time they are a year old, that's my cut-off point.

I'm pretty much anti-torture across the board, as I think it appeals to the bestial in man and rarely if ever yields valuable information. But I don't expect to get universal agreement in that.

lookout123 07-18-2008 12:05 PM

define torture. is it ok to spank? swat? waterboard?

Undertoad 07-18-2008 12:06 PM

Babies are best to torture because they won't retain memories of it. They may be traumatized somehow but they won't have to ruminate about why.

HungLikeJesus 07-18-2008 12:10 PM

To me tickling is torture, but I don't think you'd get everyone to agree to ban it.

Yes, but what is it's speed on a treadmill when taking off from a floating start?

are you kidding? that's the only type of torture the French support.

smoothmoniker 07-18-2008 01:51 PM

A few definitions, to help clarify:

Baby = zero to 12 months
Torture = to inflict pain for the purpose of inflicting pain (we're not talking doctor's shots or parental discipline here)

Now can we get consensus?
