How could you do that to someone? To your daughter? I didn't know foot-binding included deliberate breaking and repositioning of toes -I thought the foot was just tightly bound so there was no room for growth. I guess it's just a topic i never really studied.Interesting Article here says they did it to themselves -a seven-year-old breaking her own feet.

Because you want her to be beautiful and have all the advantages in life she possibly can.
Now as to why that was thought to be beautiful...
