I saw that yesterday. I think the girl standing between the chairs is going to suffer back problems for the rest of her life.

I was wondering why this was even filmed in the first place.

I saw the clip on LakeTV. It was a LakeTV crew filming. I think they were shooting stock footage/b-reel. Or background for a story.

Something to that effect.

That was several years ago on 'Nature' with George Page, I think.

There are loads of ravens...or crows...not sure which, possibly both...around here. They're startlingly large close up. Carrot's fascinated by them. So was Pilau. Though Pilau used tochase them, whilst Carrot is learning to just sit and watch them.

According to wiki:

Quote:

Recent research has found some crow species capable not only of tool use but of tool construction as well.[2] Crows are now considered to be among the world's most intelligent animals.[3] The Jackdaw and the European Magpie have been found to have a nidopallium approximately the same relative size as the functionally equivalent neocortex in chimpanzees and humans, and significantly larger than is found in the gibbon.[4]

Aren't crows and ravens very close to the same bird?

Anywho...

I want one of these! The Inebriator.

Only, it needs voice-recognition.

My brother used to work for this company. They made robots, this one a bartender. I got a drink off one at an event once.

Crows and ravens are very closely related and they look very much alike to the untrained observer. Some say they're the same bird, just different in size along a continuum with ravens being larger and crows being smaller. Both are completely black, feathers, beak, feet, eyes, everything. There are some subtle physical distinctions though. Ravens have a kind of messy ruff of feathers around their throat. The ravens being larger also have larger wings with fifteen pinion feathers while the crows' smaller wings only have fourteen. These are practically invisible on the all black birds.

As far as I'm concerned, the difference is a matter of a pinion.

I see what you did there.

*stares hard at Big V*

Well played, sir, well played.

I think the ones I see mostly around here must be ravens then because they're bloody massive. And I'm pretty sure I've seen that messy ruff at their throats too.
