"The Flower of Gower Gulch"

A pretty for the first dwellar to name the artiste. Bonus points for the episode.

"She's the flower of Gower Gulch,
A cowpuncher's sweetheart true,

And her looks don't amount to much,
'Cause one of her eyes is blue.

She's got skin just like prairie dog leather,
Cooks nuthin' but chuckwagon stew.

And her name is Minerva Utch,
She's the flower of Gower Gulch."

I remembered the song, but couldn't remember the name of the short itself, so I had to Google that part.

Via Chicago

I dreamed about killing you again last night
And it felt alright to me
Dying on the banks of Embarcadero skies
I sat and watched you bleed

Buried you alive in a fireworks display
Raining down on me
Your cold, hot blood
Ran away from me to the sea

I printed my name on the back of a leaf
And I watched it float away
The hope I had in a notebook full of white dry pages
Was all I tried to save

But the wind blew me back via Chicago
In the middle of the night
And not without fight
At the crush of veils and starlight

I know I'll make it back
One of these days
And turn on your TV
To watch a man with a face like mine
Being chased down a busy street

When he gets caught, I won't get up
And I won't go to sleep
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
Via Chicago

Where the cups are cracked and hooked
Above the sink
They make me think
Crumbling ladder tears don't fall
They shine down your shoulders

And crawling is screw faster lash
I blow it with kisses
I rest my head on a pillowy star
And a cracked-door moon
That says I haven't gone too far

I'm coming home
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
Via Chicago

Coming home
Coming home
Coming home

Searching for a home
Searching for a home
Searching for a home
Via Chicago

I'm coming home
I'm coming home

My main mode at the computer is to "give chance a chance". I found that slogan rather clever (which doesn't take much, honestly).

Last 5 songs:
At Last -- Etta James
For My Lover -- Tracy Chapman
The House Is Rocking -- Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble
Behind the Wall -- Tracy Chapman
Person to Person -- Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson

Hope & Suicide - Razor Blade Smile
Bloodlet - Entheogen - one of the greatest albums for listening to creative, groove oriented metal and alternate time signatures.
Mixed Jazz & Blues cd - Miles Davis, Coltrane, and Muddy Waters so far today.

CW McCall's Greatest Hits
Some damn album by Clannad (doesn't matter which one, they all sound the same)

Coldplay - all 3 studio CDs

Fugazi - the argument

Fugazi have made a career out of crafting excellent albums, and with The Argument, they've made one of their best. At this point, I don't see it edging out Red Medicine or 13 Songs from the top of my Fugazi album hierarchy, but it's certainly a worthy entry into their catalog, and proves that they're still one of the most important bands in the world.

lookout123 06-22-2005 08:17 PM

you know, i've always enjoyed fugazi to an extent, but now i think they are the paris hilton of indie music. they are important because they are important. mckay was one of the first recognizeable voices promoting the straightedge, and discord has been crucial throughout the years, but Fugazi as a band is at times overhyped. IMO.

my personal favorite fugazi album is still in on the kill taker .

elSicomoro 06-22-2005 08:40 PM

I think I'll go with Red Medicine.

Listened to Billy Corgan's new solo CD last night...not that impressed. I hope he puts the original Pumpkins back together...and that they rock the fuck out again.
