Two cats.
Two very different cats. Two cats that own Mr & Mrs Limey. Jasper (of the truncated tail) closest to camera. Maurice the cat-in-waiting above. Both gorgeous, both took shifts to snuggle with me during the day and keep me company at night. |
Lovely photograph! Gorgeous cats, but lovely photo too. Mad photo skillz.

In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the beardie sleeps tonight...

The snow on the windowsill is, like, really tasty cold dude.

Nice photo of the limeycats!
And oh, Carrot. He looks like a toy, an excessively furry stuffed animal. :) |

Is no-one else bothered about the fact that Carrot-chops has caught and eviscerated a fox?!
Shocking. Anyway. Limes rarely posts pics of her two gorgeous cats. She says she means to, but gets distracted. Almost definitely by said gorgeous cats. Or lovely Mr Limes. Jaspar is the Head Cat. He has the most responsibilities. He is ginger. Maurice is a little hard-done-by. He's a tabby and is often reminded of such. Anything that goes wrong is his fault. Given that cats don't really get human language, he is pretty much blase. He is not shouted at or treated badly of course. He is just reminded of his failings in a polite and reasonable way. But he was very kind to me, which made me feel like his champion. |
I always wonder what the animals think when the humans are taking their photo. I have some animals that love the attention and others are so annoyed. The Limeycats are fab! and his 'Carrotness" is yummy! :yum:

Mum's adopting a dog :) She went yesterday to the Dog's Trust in Leeds and met some of the dogs they have there. Was a bit of a fraught time for her, because as soon as she went in she was overwhelmed by sadness and felt like she was gonna break down right there in front of everyone... but was trying not to show it. With the two girls enthusiastically dragging her round and awwwwing over this and that dog. Anyways: just before they were going to leave, the guy there told them about three dogs who'd just come in. They weren't on the books yet, hadn't gone through the system. One in particular she was struck by, though she liked all of them and they went for a walk together in the fields surrounding the Trust. The one she has chosen is (we think) a collie-samoyed cross bitch, probably about 3 years old. She's clearly been well cared for before becoming a stray but none of the numbers listed on her microchip work, and she's far away from her original home (Manchester). Today, we all went over to the Trust so she could meet Carrot and we could see how they might get along. They seemed very comfortable in each other's company :) She has to stay there for the obligatory seven days, and she's also to be spayed and a couple of little things checked out by the vet. Looks like we'll be bringing her home on Friday or Saturday. Her temporary name at the shelter is 'Snowball'...Mum's going to change that! I think at the moment it's a choice between Nelle and Mabel, leaning towards Nelle. Here she is: |
Now that is a beautiful creature.
Luck to your Mum in the adoption procedure. Not being rude, but that looks like an active dog. You and I are of a similar vintage, how strong are your Mum's arms? Nelle (lovely name) looks like she could pull them out of her sockets! Meh, forget. Yorkshire lasses are a hardy breed. |
Ha! She looks a lot bigger than she is in that photo because of the angle of the shot. She's actually a little smaller than Carrot chops, and quite a slight dog. Half to two thirds the weight of a fully filled out adult beardie I reckon. And she doesn't pull on the lead either.
She is active, but she doesn't seem remotely bouncy (unlike some dogs I could mention!). One of Mum's criteria was that the dog had to be lighter to lift than Dante was. Not so much because of how things are right now, but building in for possibly 8-10 years into the future. When the boys became rickety old men, they had to be lifted in and out of the car and so on. It was hard work, especially if one person was ferrying both dogs. |
Re: Cross Bitch
Maybe she just had a bad day? |
Stunning, and a red nose too. :thumb:

Eyes first, Bruce.
When you meet a female always compliment the eyes first. Although because of ptosis I was a sucker for complminents about my nose too. Just never about it being red. |

Lovely looking dog, Dana. By special request (aka due to being nagged! ) here are the Limey Boys doing their duty in the early (fun) days of the power outage.
