Universal wrench.

That's a cool tool.

You're right Griff (you're right too, for that matter, Gravdigr). I found it at Hardwick's, my local candy store hardware store. They have **everything**, and a vast selection of used tools, but not this one, anymore. I paid $2.50 for it. I looked around the web to learn about this tool, because I had no idea what it was called. In the store, I figured out for myself that it was good for tightening pipes, like a pipe wrench, like a pipe ratchet actually. It only grabs in one direction, to reverse direction, turn the wrench over. The sharp teeth grip the iron pipe neatly. I think I scored a great deal, since in my searches, I found "universal wrench", "alligator wrench", and "goat wrench" that matched my tool. I found new ones for sale for as much as $73!!!

yikes.

I thought the holes in the handle were for putting in some kind of cheater bar for more leverage, but no. They're for turning square nuts. Some of the wrenches I found have rethreading dies in the handle. It's a pretty cool tool, I love tools.

Guess

The shadow of something filled with clear liquid, with light shining through it... I'm inclined to think of things in the optometry occupation, of course, but that little nub at the top is throwing me.

Ooh, I once knew a girl whose eyes never developed because of a congenital defect, and when she was a baby her "glass eyes" (which she needed in order to keep the sockets growing with her so she could be fitted for real glass eyes as an adult) had little sticks sticking out of them so her parents could pull them in and out for her. Surely it's not one of those?

You have a glass ornament hanging in a window, and the sun is shining through it. The little string at the top is too small to show its shadow.

Something like this.
