Awesome!

xoxoxoBruce 12-24-2016 09:55 AM

Ripley looks a little like Scarlett Johansson at times.

Sweet looking family. I can't wait to meet them. Obviously the postman didn't ring twice. Jim your children are the spitting image of you.

footfootfoot 12-24-2016 10:32 AM

Beautiful family, Jim.

lumberjim 12-24-2016 12:19 PM

Believe it or not. :lol2:

infinite monkey 12-24-2016 04:04 PM

A bit like Laura Linney in a couple of those pics, to me. She's a pretty girl.

captainhook455 12-24-2016 05:12 PM

Amanda looks a lot like you too Jim. How old did you say she is? I wouldn't want you to go Woody Allen on me.

That's who she is named after, so that would be cool.

Thanks, Bruce! Merry Christmas!

This is her official move in date. We rented a uhaul and moved all of the big stuff in. It's like Christmas. I've got all this new stuff now. And some of my old stuff that had been stored in her basement.

Pretty cool

My Bruce cards come similarly address to my wife and me as an afterthought...which is how it should be.

Griff 12-25-2016 12:02 PM

Yeah, he's just waiting for us to drop off the radar.

xoxoxoBruce 12-25-2016 12:12 PM

Aw, you've found me out.

A friendfriendfriend made this for me. Makes the ones I've been creating look rudimentary. I'll save it for when we have good company over to the house.

No I won't.

Elspode 12-25-2016 06:33 PM

Hey, at least you've made no pretense all along. You've always liked Tree Fae better than me. Hell, *I* like her better than me!

Hey...that's cool. The lining will make it tres durable. Sweet appliance, that.

Elspode 12-25-2016 06:35 PM

That's about...what? Three feet long?

Undertoad 12-25-2016 06:45 PM

Your friend is very similar to mine who has produced a similar beautiful piece. I'm not at home yet or I would show it here.

captainhook455 12-25-2016 07:34 PM

Jimbo your pipe might be primitive, but it works quite well. I am getting a nice burn on the inside for the screen to hold. Screen material used to be a heavier gauge. Now I have to contend with wimpy precut brass screening. I light the bud, suck up some smoke. It is a cool smoke for sure. Like a bong without the rum. The bowl stays cool. A couple friends said they want one. Get to whittling.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...390efb1875.jpg

I got an incense burner, with a nice feature. You know how when you light incense you have to blow on it to get it cooking?
Then when you blow on it the ash and sparks go willy-nilly, burning holes in your new socks?.
Well this incense burner has a hole in the bottom, down through the wood and out the side through another piece of wood.
This way I can pull air down over the incense to get it cooking, while my beard is safely away from the fire, and my socks are safe.
It has a base to set it on after it gets cooking. Looks like it might tip over but it won't. Magnets, is there anything they can't do?

footfootfoot 12-26-2016 09:59 AM

Nice photo!

Damn. You've had for what, a week? It looks like it's got some miles on it already.

Undertoad 12-26-2016 11:45 PM

Weed and ace inhibitors, that is my program too.

captainhook455 12-26-2016 11:50 PM

Damn look at all of you and your fancy schmancy appliances. About 2 months ago my BIL sent me a tiny package - it was hand delivered. I had been taking Zoloft and then Lexapro for about 2 months. They weren't helping.
So on the 26th with EVERYONE gone I decided to try something I hadn't done in decades. I didn't have an appliance though, so I needed to make one quick. It was like riding a bike. Got a Sharpie and a regular pen. Put the ends together lengthwise on top of a multi-layer of foil. Roll and bend. Pinch the end (so one doesn't inhale flaming incense) and voila! :joint:
Repeated last night and went to watch Assassin's Creed with my neighbor. I told him and he was like damn bro - you are so chill.
Damn - I slept better than I have in ages.

I'm gonna be starting up this Friday. It's been a long, long time. How was it?

captainhook455 01-15-2017 12:35 PM

I don't drink alcohol, well very little. Usually in the morning after coffee I begin smoking my pipe. Jim can drink me under the table, but my tolerance for weed is much higher than his. Weed on the coast cost twice as much as the Piedmont . Tourists will pay anything. I can see much better especially if I wear my glasses. Does it help vision or pain? Dunno.
It helps me ignore the chaos that surrounds me. Riding the bike stoned, won't happen cause the wind blows it right outta me.

lumberjim 01-15-2017 01:33 PM

I need to practice more

I have ZERO tolerance. But I'm working on that ... slowly.

DanaC 01-20-2017 07:21 PM

cannabis, I think, has been shown to alleviate symptoms in glaucoma sufferers.

xoxoxoBruce 01-20-2017 07:51 PM

Yes, I worked with an engineer 40 years ago who had it bad. Pot was the only thing that helped.

The area of bare skin on a turkey’s throat and head vary in colour depending on its level of excitement and stress. When excited, a male turkey’s head turns blue, when ready to fight it turns red.

captainhook455 01-23-2017 08:11 PM

What color is his head when its whacked off with a hatchet?

tarheel

BigV 01-23-2017 08:33 PM

Jive turkeys!

captainhook455 01-24-2017 12:28 PM

I just stole this from another forum. My father died Sunday morning and I was feeling down. You know what? Try cruising old threads for a pick me up. Thankfully my yankee friend hasn't dwelled on the subject. F√cking relatives come by and are so sorry. Sitting around with hang dog looks staring at me. I hate that shit and where is the food everyone supposed to bring? The aide what takes care of my wife bought soda. Where the food?! Bunch of cheap suckers. I'll leave each one a dollar in my will. Leave the rest to the state for a new boat ramp.
Almost forgot the picture picker upper.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...55df98c3b5.jpg

I'm sorry about your dad, tarheel. X

Dad got out of this cesspool, envy him. :crone:

Griff 01-24-2017 06:08 PM

Sorry man, and yeah damnit where's the food?

Clodfobble 01-24-2017 06:40 PM

Sorry, tarheel. May the latrine pit be far from your tunnel.

captainhook455 01-24-2017 06:58 PM

My father led a full life. He graduated HS and had worked since he was 14. Pop retired at 62 making 200k a year in 1988. He always wanted to live on a river so he bought property years before. Paid cash for his house. Once my wife and daughter were going to help my mother shampoo carpet. Daughter didn't want to stop because they had company. My wife said they don't have company, these are Pops vehicles.lol.
Pop lived to be 88. Outlived all his friends. This last year was a sad one. Dementia really sucks you know. My father was always the boss of the family. Now I had to be the boss. He got to be like a big baby. Such a shame, such a smart man.

tarheel

Undertoad 01-24-2017 07:13 PM

Respect to you and yours.

glatt 01-24-2017 07:49 PM

Tarheel, I'm sorry about your dad. Dementia is cruel way to go.

lumberjim 01-25-2017 12:59 AM

You've got a sick wife to look after. Get to the other side of that, then you have time to feel sad. You said he died last year, but his body kept going.

Life is serving the shit sandwich this week. Sorry, man.

Gravdigr 01-25-2017 01:39 AM

Tarheel, that's a tough lick, man.

Thoughts and prayers.

DanaC 01-25-2017 06:43 AM

Ahh Tarheel, I'm so sorry - it's never easy. *hugs*

BigV 01-25-2017 10:42 AM

I'm saddened to hear your news, tarheel.

I hope you and your family and friends come together for each other. I'm sending my contribution right here.

BigV 01-25-2017 10:44 AM

I don't know, maybe you're not a hugger. Apologies if you're not.

Flint 01-25-2017 10:55 AM

Sounds like he lived a good life.

classicman 01-25-2017 04:31 PM

Condolences on the loss of your father. Peace to you and yours.
