Spexxvet 11-23-2010 08:16 AM

Sunglasses on a lap

Clodfobble 11-23-2010 12:43 PM

That neck collar posted in the other thread.

BigV 11-23-2010 12:58 PM

mornin folks.

Not sunglasses. (heheh.. spexx sees glasses)

Not collar (btw, that was this thread, was it not?)

Please continue.

Clodfobble 11-23-2010 01:22 PM

Heh... yes it was, just a couple posts up. Shows how much I'm paying attention.

glatt 11-23-2010 01:27 PM

Well, they're either legs or fingers. I'm going to guess they are fingers and assume the metal thing is an inch or two long. I'll guess it's a usb flash drive.

Gravdigr 11-23-2010 01:34 PM

Elbow area of the forearm? And a purse strap. Or a buckle.

glatt 11-23-2010 01:39 PM

Oh, wait, I just looked at the dark "black" area of the image, and see a couple eyes and nostrils. We're looking up at someone's face in the dark area. But I don't know what that means. Could still be fingers or an arm. I like the buckle idea.

BigV 11-23-2010 01:43 PM

Hello again.

not usb drive, but points for specific guess. glatt, do you ever need all twenty guesses when you play mastermind? you don't strike me as a man with a siege mentality. you're all "one shot one kill" sniper-mind. and damn good too. but not this one. Keep playing. :)

Not purse strap, not buckle.

You're both right to have identified "flesh". Not much help, though.

Gravdigr 11-23-2010 02:03 PM

Is it a pair of Elvis' sunglasses crammed in some chick's whowhodillie?

ETA: Is the original image SFW?

BigV 11-23-2010 02:17 PM

I wouldn't desecrate the holy of holies with The King's sunglasses.

and yes, that *is* the original image, so... yeah. sfw. not especially helpful, sorry. the image is sfw, the backstory... that might belong in another thread. "whowhodillie"... you crack me up man.

BigV 11-23-2010 02:18 PM

curious glatt, do you have xray vision? how did you manage to pick out the face in the dark area (you're correct, by the way).

I broke out the photo editing program...after reading that.

Gravdigr 11-23-2010 02:33 PM

Is it someone wearing one of those copper bracelets?

Or 3-D glasses?

I love these things.

As I scrolled up the page, the image got brighter and the face jumped out at me. At first I thought it was dirt on my monitor.

I'm really stumped with this one though.

BigV 11-24-2010 11:45 AM

Going once,

going twice......

Spexxvet 11-24-2010 11:46 AM

Hint!

BigV 11-24-2010 11:52 AM

ok.

let me think who among us *should* recognize this. It is not particularly unusual. I'll think about it and give you an answer in a few minutes.

classicman 11-24-2010 02:14 PM

... still waiting

classicman 11-24-2010 02:16 PM

thigh/back of calf... what the metallic item is, not sure.

BigV 11-24-2010 02:29 PM

I'll give you calf credit.

The other part goes great with heels.

I looked and looked but couldn't find a dwellar who I thought would *know* the other part for sure. Carruthers maybe, when you learn, it will be obvious.

classicman 11-24-2010 03:09 PM

oh and the metal thing is on her belly...

BigV 11-24-2010 03:32 PM

They come in pairs, they're sometimes found in pants (but not this kind...), and these happen to be english.

BigV 11-24-2010 04:40 PM

I was having a laugh with the model about the conversation here. This is her answer, verbatim:

"leg...stirrup..crotch...any questions?"

Thank you all for playing, (especially my model). I'll have another one up soon.

Gravdigr 11-26-2010 03:15 AM

Suspenders?

ETA: Nevermind.

I still don't know what it is.:lol2:

BigV 12-02-2010 10:45 PM

I'm sure you can identify her leg. Her crotch is not in the frame, use your imagination. The silver metal object is a stirrup, like these. They came with a junior jumping saddle I picked up second hand the other day, on a whim.

Gravdigr 12-02-2010 11:50 PM

Ha! I thought those were hints! I was thinking something like a brass speculum or something...:3_eyes:

xoxoxoBruce 12-02-2010 11:52 PM

On a whim? Did she buy that story?

BigV 12-03-2010 12:01 AM

bwaaaahahahahhahaha
YES! she did. in fact, she was with me when I bought it. I sought her expertise as a horse lover. she confirmed that though the saddle was in pretty poor shape the price was unbeatable. Plus, I'll be able to use it for something, like costume parts for SakuraCon. The stirrups and stirrup leathers *just happened* to go nicely with a girth I've had for a long time.

It was a LOT of fun!

xoxoxoBruce 12-03-2010 12:05 AM

Watch out for the horsey set, they love to train geldings to serve them.:eek2:

BigV 12-03-2010 12:16 AM

!!

My interest in pony play has certain hard limits. We could talk about training and serving, but I don't have the balls for gelding--I'm just too attached to them.

xoxoxoBruce 12-03-2010 12:21 AM

Ah, but you do have the balls for gelding.;)

BigV 12-03-2010 12:47 AM

/searches around frantically....

where the f*ck did I put that safeword smiley?!

Gravdigr 12-03-2010 01:50 AM

Safeword: "NOT MY BALLS!!!!!":speechls:

A couple Dwellars may know what this is, but, I haven't seen any posts to indicate that anyone would know for sure what it is. Instead of a tight macro shot, or just a crop, you get the whole thing right off the bat. I covered the area where the brand name was, as a simple Googling would pretty much give it away. If you need another angle, I might could accommodate.

There's nothing in the pic for scale, so I'll tell you the piece of wood it's mounted on is 9¾" x 5½" x ⅝". The piece of wood itself is not pertinent, it's just a base for stability.

So, what is this?

glatt 12-03-2010 07:37 AM

Never seen one before, but it's clearly a clamp/vise of some sort and the deer means it has to do with hunting. It's plastic, so I doubt it's strong enough to clamp a rifle. Could probably clamp an arrow. Maybe for working on the feathers or the razor tips? It's got an integrated ruler, which maybe you could use for lining up the feathers in the right spot? I don't know what it's called, but I'm going to guess it's a clamp for working on arrows.

Gravdigr 12-03-2010 02:36 PM

Well, now. That didn't take long did it? It is a fletching jig. It is indeed used for holding the feathers while the glue is drying. This one is for straight fletching, as opposed to helical (slight spiral) left or right. Very good deducing, Glatt. These pics pretty much show them in use.

BigV 12-03-2010 02:51 PM

fletching jig

BigV 12-03-2010 02:52 PM

I can see I need to be quicker on my refresh.

glatt 12-03-2010 02:53 PM

"fletching jig" sounds kind of dirty.

BigV 12-03-2010 02:55 PM

an easy typo there gets your directly into nsfw territory.

Gravdigr 12-04-2010 01:47 PM

Felching rig?

Clodfobble 12-04-2010 03:14 PM

Glatt is the master of this game.

Gravdigr 12-04-2010 03:27 PM

What is this? No, really, what is it? Cuzz I don't know. In all my doings with computers, I've never heard it referred to, and I've never used it. What is it, and, what does it do?

While we're at it, what's the 'pause/break' key for?

glatt 12-09-2010 07:24 AM

looks like "print"

Undertoad 12-09-2010 07:37 AM

Menu key: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menu_key

Break key: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Break_key

What is this?

Carruthers 12-12-2010 01:00 PM

I'd hazard a guess that the first one is a planetarium.

As far as the second one goes, possibly horse tack. Martingale?

Carruthers

Gaze upon my works ye mighty, and despair. Or something like that......

BigV 12-12-2010 01:34 PM

Hey Carruthers--

First pic -- Nope.

Second pic -- half credit for horse tack, but that's a bit too easy given my recent clues about such shenanigans. I am looking for a much more specific answer. I actually didn't know until last night, and I was holding it in my hand. Not a martingale--those are much straighter. This has a definite twist / bend to it, illustrated by how I'm holding it.

Carruthers 12-12-2010 02:07 PM

Good evening/morning BigV.

(1) I'll have a stab at something in the nuclear industry.

(2)Part of the bridle? Cheek pieces possibly, your fingers representing the bit?
I only have experience of English tack, so I'm probably wide of the mark.

Gravdigr 12-12-2010 04:06 PM

Guessing a radome in first pic...or something to do with water treatment?

Second pic - Do stirrups hang from these?

wolf 12-12-2010 04:41 PM

#1 looks like what an imax looks like without a theater around it, from the back end.

#2 ... two buckles is too many for that to be part of a bridle, the looped, unbroken ends make it not something to hold a bit, anyway. I'm wondering, though if they might be part of driving harness? something from near the back end, to guide the reins or something like that.

Clodfobble 12-12-2010 05:06 PM

I want to say the first one is from somewhere in that Air & Space (?) museum in Seattle. Don't know why, but I immediately thought of it.
