A pano shot I took with my iphone of Citizens Bank Park (Phillies) yesterday. My dads day gift! Phills lost, but we still had a lot of fun!

Nice. Didn't know you were another Philly dwellar.

classicman 06-21-2010 09:13 AM

jinx 06-21-2010 10:22 AM

Wow, that is great pic.

Ah, a self portrait. ;)

Elspode 06-22-2010 05:33 PM

Hey, BW, what app are you using for these? Are the panos made in-phone, or do you export and stitch?

Here is a website for the app...pano by Debacle Software

The pano is created right in the phone. You can pick landscape or portrait mode. So far I have made up to 7-picture pano's. I don't know if there is a 'limit' of pics it will stitch together. The app is really easy to use. It costs $2.99.
Most times though you will need a wifi connection to upload the pano to the web or to email it to someone because of the file size. The Phillies stadium shot was 5 pictures stiched together.

and here is a picture to keep the thread going.... My daughter Maddy on Long Beach Island last week or two.

bigw00dy 06-23-2010 06:22 AM

Another of the stadium. This one is a little more clear when zoomed into. I took this one from a portrait mode.

A shot of Minot's Ledge Lighthouse I took on my trip to Massachusetts a few weeks ago. One of my favorite pics.

I like the lighthouse picture. Looks like a hazy summer day.

Cute bun bun.

What the Heck are those mushrooms doing in June????
They shouldn't be around for another 3-4 months

glatt 06-23-2010 02:53 PM

I don't know, but I know now to pick them up and toss them on the stick pile or something, otherwise, they melt into a big blob that looks just like a pile of runny crap.

I came back the day after taking this picture to do just that, but they had already started to turn to jelly. There were thousands of maggots of some sort living in the slime as I was scooping it up and tossing it.

Good times.

dmg1969 06-24-2010 12:15 PM

Thanks Glatt! Yes...definitely hazy that day. I like your pics. We have a few rabbits that frequent our yard too. In fact, they dug a burrow near my smoke tree to build a nest. Ugh!

My Smoke (tree) bush is growing very strangely. Im thinking about moving it to the center of the yard where it will get more sun.

Sorry Glatt...wasn't on much lately.

Here's a link to a smoke tree on the Arbor Day Foundation website. That's where I got it.

That's what I call drive-by-shooting.

bigw00dy 06-27-2010 09:40 AM

Gravdigr,
I attempted a similar picture on the move but it didn't work out so well!

My success rate with that type pic is about 1 in 10.

Taken on Red River (the one on KY-TN line, not one of the umpteen other Red Rivers, we have three in KY, that I know of)

Not the best picture quality, but, the light was going, and the telephoto was maxxed out.

Balloon Flower, before and after.

glatt 07-02-2010 12:29 PM

What's the matter, deer? Haven't you ever seen a person before?

Lamplighter 07-02-2010 12:46 PM

I like Gravdigr's pic a lot... the barn offers contract in weight, color and texture.

Certainly not a "deer in the headlights"

Why, thank you LL.

I think this one would be the better pic, if it weren't for that damn tube gate on the barn.

glatt 07-02-2010 02:41 PM

I never knew tube gates were a thing that some people hate.

Flint 07-02-2010 03:46 PM

Life is strange, grasshopper. Here's an ice cream cone to help soften the blow.

If I needed one, I'm sure I would greatly appreciate a tube gate. I know they have their place, just not in mah pikshur.

jinx 07-03-2010 07:21 PM

Aluminum. Melts/cools quickly for demo purposes... Notice they aren't using the actual iron furnace (giant stone thing in background) either.

That is real pig iron in the ground, but they just put it there as a prop.

busterb 07-03-2010 08:14 PM

Jinx. Great shots. Anvil Mike had a friend who worked at a foundry, in Fl. He made mike a few castings.

Nice pictures, dmg.

Is that a drool-proof keyboard?

dmg1969 07-06-2010 03:14 PM

Thanks HLJ. I believe it is actually. The screen, however, is not muck-proof. I have to clean it often.....

zippyt 07-06-2010 05:24 PM

Verry cool jinx !!

jinx 07-06-2010 05:26 PM

Thanks zip. The kids are still talking about the molten-aluminum being poured.... reminded the boy of Terminator.

I remember, as a kid, being fascinated by the glass-blowers at a renn faire we went to. But, melting METAL??? OMG how cool.

I'll never fail to be amazed at the skill (and occasionally the luck) of Dwellars with cameras.

My lowly offerings:

Gravdigr 07-07-2010 05:59 AM

Like the purpley flower. Nice pix!

glatt 07-07-2010 07:20 AM

Those are awesome SG. Especially the purple one.

We did aluminum castings in Jr. High it was pretty cool.

dmg1969 07-07-2010 11:23 AM

Very nice SG! Nothing lowly about your offerings....

dmg1969 07-07-2010 11:28 AM

We have a big county fair coming up in August and I think I'm going to enter a few photos in the photography contest. They have numerous categories and you can enter one photo in each. I wanted to enter one of my black and white photos of a run-down one room schoolhouse, but the scenic categories are only color. The only black and white categories are animal and portrait. I do have some b&w animal photos I could choose from to enter. They do have a flowers category and I have quite a few of those including the sunflower I just posted.

Here are two more I like. I might enter one...

A ladybug on a weathered window jamb.

A shot taken in the woods in Spring. I like it because it was taken in a gully (dip in the ground) which made it look as if I had used a fish-eye lens.

Down with tube gates!

HungLikeJesus 07-08-2010 07:47 AM

But I still see a tube gate.

Griff 07-08-2010 07:53 AM

I think that one is wooden.

Lamplighter 07-08-2010 08:40 AM

How did you get that deer to stand still so you could take the 2nd pic ?

Shawnee123 07-08-2010 08:51 AM

So much depends
upon

A metal tube
gate

Slick with
dew

Beside the red
barn.

Too obscure?
