That's the same way to eat a couple cases of Wheaties.

Have you replenished the shelf? My hunter/gatherer synapses are going haywire

glatt 01-22-2013 01:52 PM

Only partially. No amazing sale, so just doing it like a sane person these days. I think there might be 4-5 boxes down there.

Chocolatl 01-22-2013 02:48 PM

Do you have Wheaties every single day for breakfast?

glatt 01-22-2013 03:08 PM

Almost every day. I'd guess I have Wheaties 360 days a year. I like the familiarity of it in my morning routine. Yesterday, I had pancakes and sausage and an orange, and it didn't kill me.

Best wishes, IM. Keep feeling better.

He is one of the prime developers of Cognitive Therapy. I still use these books from time to time.

CBT is a life changer, but it's work. Feeling Good is an excellent, easy to read book. I recommend it, too.

Wow, Pico. That's the exact book that turned my life around (along with some help from a counselor). But the book made the difference. It takes practice, like anything worthwhile, but you can learn to change your inner dialogue.

There was someone here recently who said they were depressed and didn't know why. I meant to post this book as a recommendation, but forgot.

I am not exaggerating when I say that this book changed my life.

It seems that lately there are so many dwellars oppressed by natural causes, there aren't any dwellars around oppressed by man made causes. Know what I mean Vern?

I might have been born with a more pronounced sensitivity to those around me and brought up by an abusive, belittling father, but it wasn't until I started working for the Real Man (corporate muthafkkers) that the PTSD kicked in.

I was sheltered and naive; but I don't think any suburban girl is ready for what the Real World dishes out--not unless she has unusually Present parents who make sure she understands the world. My folks were not present in my life except to demonstrate NO BOUNDARIES (mom) or the state of being a POW (dad). I always wondered why she married him. He's so...Aspbergers-y. So clueless. Not the type of dad you go to the Father Daughter dance.

I don't know why I just blurted all that out. I must be low on Sarah Tonin this morning...

footfootfoot 01-26-2013 09:18 AM

Yeah, Sarah is fickle. Not unlike pride. She'll act like she's going to come over and then she'll blow you off without even a call or a text.

Artful Dodger was the only kid ready for the real world.:(
