The short version is the brot was cut down and made b&w as was my pic, then each was sized.
I cut myself out with some of the background still on. Then I picked the right sized eraser with a soft edge, not a hard edge and removed the rest of the background (it takes several erasers, keep stopping because if you make a mistake and have to undo you will have less to redo).
Once I got my pic to the way I liked it, outline wise, I placed it in the Mandelbrot. Still had some tweaking with sharpening it.
Then bumped the contrast.
I had to copy and paste it to a blank, color, sheet to add the lensflair because you can't add them in gray-scale, then I grayed the lensflair.
Put it through another (brush art) filter, changed the median radius some, then a blur filter.
Merged the layers, tweaked the brightness and contrast again... and I'm sure I'm leaving something out, but, done.
