This one is kinda obvious, so let's be specific.

xoxoxoBruce 04-28-2009 11:24 AM

Just below the window, to the right of the back door?

LabRat 04-28-2009 01:11 PM

I know! I know!

BigV 04-28-2009 01:29 PM

*clap clap clap clap clap clap clap*

beauregaardhooligan 04-28-2009 11:52 PM

Very close LabRat, but I'll let you have it.
Same idea, but different bug.
Those are the tracks of the Emerald Ash Borer.
The Dutch Elm Disease was a fungus spread by a bug. I don't believe the EAB spreads a fungus, it just eats all the growth layer out from under the bark and the trees die. You can tell there is a big difference in the way the tracks run.
There are ash trees dieing in Ohio and other states also right now from these things. Many communities are having to take down huge numbers of trees in an effort to stop the spread, and it is illegal to cross some county lines with the firewood. A real disaster for a tree that was so widespread and instrumental in American history.
As a prize, LabRat, I've got a cube for you!
{I was gonna send you one anyway, but this seems appropriate.}
Send me a pm with an address and I'll UPS it to you.

LabRat 05-05-2009 02:19 PM

SWEET!!!! Winnah winnah, chicken dinnah!

PM is on the way. Thank you in advance sir!

monster 05-06-2009 08:44 PM

monster 05-06-2009 10:04 PM

lumberjim 05-07-2009 12:52 PM

Thought I'd add something into the mix.
I always read this thread, but am hopeless at guessing, so never show myself up.
Now, I disprove that by asking.... ice in Guinness, V?

This is a cheat, because it will be immediately apparent to Brits, whereas Merkins might not even know when the answer is given. It relates to a recent news story.

capnhowdy 05-15-2009 07:29 AM

BigV.... whatever that is you need to throw it out. Now.

Shawnee123 05-15-2009 08:54 AM

It's a little moon jelly. I picked it up at low tide, he looked pretty grim, no tentacles visible. The iridescence was beautiful. I set him free in deeper water after these two shots.
