From the UK I viewed the USA as modern and progressive so when I got here one of the shocks were how many "old-fashioned" practices there were in every day life. naming your oldest son after his father was one.

I was not named after an actress -allegedly- but everyone thought I was because the name was fairly unusual at the time except for this actress.

Grav: Philip or Rumplestiltskin

At least that shortens to 'Al'. Al's not bad.

No winnahs. However, 'Philip' I use occasionally (kinda). Remember when you used to have give your life story to download that trendy piece of free software? I used fake names and addresses for all those. 'Phil Magroin' was one of them. 'Phil McCracken' was another.

Rumpelstiltskin? Too grimm.

:D
