Griff and a couple other PA boys got wicked drunk there one evening and ignored Bon Jovi, hoping that Bruce (the other Bruce) was going to drop by instead.

gasp, ignored bon jovi?

okay, jon is a bit lamish, but richie pwnz.

Undertoad 06-29-2006 07:24 AM

Is richie the one bon jovi was going to kick out of the band for getting fat?

Ibby 06-29-2006 07:37 AM

I listen to Yngwie, you think I care if hes fat?

Undertoad 06-29-2006 07:40 AM

No, but jon bon jovi does. One of the band, I don't remember which, he was going to kick out for getting fat. As a musician who got fat I am so unimpressed by this.

Griff 06-29-2006 07:58 AM

Jon's music seems cooler from 20+ years distance. He was on an unbearable high rotatation at that point. I hadn't heard the weight story, wow, what a jerk. Oh and Jon just came in and sang with the act that was scheduled, no hot band.

Ibby 06-29-2006 08:29 AM

So do I get to go?

jinx 06-29-2006 08:35 AM

Springsteen didn't get his start there Ibram. Greetings from Asbury Park and The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle both came out in '73 - the Stone Pony opened in '74. It's famous because he used to stop in and play unannounced gigs there even during the height of his career.

Who's next?

Griff 06-29-2006 08:42 AM

What awesome guitarist, who wrote Ramblin' Man, did Griff see unannounced at a hole in the wall bar in Scranton PA?

Elspode 06-29-2006 12:12 PM

Dickie Betts?

xoxoxoBruce 06-29-2006 01:04 PM

BonJovi...pompous ass and mean drunk. :(

Let me clarify...what was The Who's name *immediately prior* to being named "The Who"?
