Iguana. Iguana be a bowstring when it's done. Sinew has 400,000psi tensile strength.

These look like steel bars used in building construction to reinforce a concrete structure.

zippyt 10-09-2011 02:52 PM

Nope

Lamplighter 10-09-2011 03:02 PM

Zippyt, don't you have something to do with large (weighing) scales ?
Maybe there in a new huge scale in your future.

zippyt 10-09-2011 03:15 PM

I love that you guys still say this. I don't discriminate between "laughing with" and "laughing at" --I'll take either one.

GunMaster357 10-09-2011 06:41 PM

Some propeller shafts maybe?

glatt 10-09-2011 06:48 PM

They are huge, so the obvious answer is a drive shaft for something big. Like a ship. But they could also be for some sort of manuffacturing. Like maybe the shaft for a roller in a carpet factory.

ZenGum 10-09-2011 09:19 PM

(a) are you getting enough dietary fibre, Zippy?

(b) axle for the missing (second-to-) back axle of that truck.

(c) I doubt drive shafts, beacuse (c.1) I can't see any attachment points at the end and (c.2) There is a big pile of these things in the background. Too darn many for drive shafts.

So, despite (c.1) I'm going for ... dunno what they are called ... when they're drilling for oil or whatever, and they've got the drill bit into the earth, they need to keep putting extension bars on it to keep going deeper. Probably wrong, 'cause I think the drill thingies should be hollow, but oh well.

zippyt 10-09-2011 09:35 PM

Does this help ??

Definitely not drilling thingies, then.

Reverting to what I was originally going to guess ... rollers for an industrial size conveyor belt / roller-slide thingy.

My vocab sucks at this stuff.
